Wow.

At any rate, the "Ignore" feature - which I'm not even sure is part of this forum's software - simply allows users to regulate whose posts they view.

I consider it akin to blocking a phone number.

Hey Chiba,

I think that works well in a larger forum than ours. I too use the block feature on two national boards I use. They don't work exactly as you suggest but I see the reasons you would like it that way.

In a small family such as ours, I think it would bring about hard feelings rather quickly. I see no good coming from alienating any member.

Just my 2 cents.

BTW, I wasn't trying to toss a spear at you with my 'warm and fuzzy' statement -- just using a smart-ass method to make a point -- I need to control that portion of my brain.

Maybe not "control" so much as "regulate a little from time to time." Sarcasm can be quite refreshing and entirely amusing when used sparingly.

Anyway... small forum or large, the beauty of Ignore is that the only person who knows who's being ignored is the person doing the ignoring. So if I were to ignore, say, Repo, she wouldn't know.

Plus, only the people that are interested in it have to use it. Everybody else can ... well, ignore it.

(just made myself chuckle with that last one)

I don't know. I can easily scan through a thread and ignore posts I don't care to read. It's when I see a post that catches my eye with some tirade that I go back and see what brought it on. That kinda happened in some posts recently, however the source was deleted so it led to alot of confusion.

-1 on the Ignore Feature. +1 on Final Drive forum to move ugly threads to.

I see your point Chiba ... but you'll be missing out on the entire discussion. Guess you could PM someone to catch-up if need be.

I think we need;

Coffee Stop section for social discussion
Gen Discussion for bike related stuff
Final Drive for the type of banter Dough Boy and I engaged in

Separating the Moto related chat from our social chat might go a long way to satisfying those who see the club as strictly motorcycle related and those who like a wider range of topics.

Leave Final Drive for mods to move those discussion worthy of a steel cage.

So Chris - does this mean you are going to change your vote to the BOD and now push for the Final Drive section??

A) I don't have a Vote - and you know that.

B) I have said I like Klecks FinalDrive/ JoMomma Light idea. And you know that too.

We might differ on our reasons why... however we do agree on wanting to give it a serious try.
