Links...

When I click on links in messages, it opens in the same window instead of opening a new window as before. Just a personal preference thing but I like it to opne a new window.

Check your browser settings - you may be able to force that behavior. I can with Firefox.

My FireFox is set to open links in a new window. And it does it in every web site but this one.

I have found instructions on how to customize the site to do this. I'll implement it in the next few days.

When you're done taking care of that, here's another one. :) This one should be easy. The favicon.ico file appears to have gotten out of the reach of the current software. Probably just a matter of copy and paste (or move).

This shouldn't have been lost, as that file wasn't moved in the migration. You can access the file at http://www.bmwbmw.org/favicon.ico. My bet would be something's up with your browser.

Anyone else having this problem?

Could be. I bookmarked, er, favorited the site in IE, and the favicon is there. I'll fiddle with it.

Edit: All is well. Image

I re-bookmarked the index page and threw the old bookmark away.

The same thing happened with links on other forum that I go to after they upgraded phpbb software. The work around until Jeremy can fix the code is the hold the <CTRL> key while you click the link.

Unless I'm missing something, the code doesn't need fixing. Nothing has changed on the server side in regards to the .ico file sitting in the root.

Oops sorry Jeremy,

I was referring to the original topic of the this thread about links opening in the same browser window instead of spawning new windows. Holding the <CTRL> key while clicking a link will force it to open a new browser window.

For the record the .ico works fine for me

np. We can blame Unity for that lil thread hijack.

And back on topic, if you have a mouse wheel and Firefox or IE 7+ (maybe IE 6? I forget) you can click the mouse wheel and the link will open in a new tab, which is pretty sweet. But I will address this link problem from the server side in the near future.
