Club Tent Camping at MOA Rally - room for last minute folks

Postby Genen8kua » Tue May 01, 2018 11:23 pm

I heard from Rick Koscher who kindly remains the Chartered Club camping coordinator for the National Rally. Every year, the MOA reserves spaces for chartered club members to camp together. Is anyone going and interested in being the club point of contact for this? While I'm not planning to go, I'm happy to collect names until another club member takes the baton and carries it (and hopefully the club banner) to Iowa.

The MOA doesn't charge for any camping spaces. Picnic tents, tables and the like are usually available for rent. He doesn't have prices for them yet. We haven't sprung for them in recent memory.

I might not be the only BMWBMW person he emailed, btw.

Regards,

Gene

Hi Gene, Yes I have already paid and plan on attending. I mentioned to Bruce about looking into one of those small banner flags. Here is the thread I created for folks to let everyone know if they are going. viewtopic.php?f=15&t=22599 2018 BMW MOA International Rally – “The Amazing Ride!”

We need a small Flag for the blimp http://www.thosbaker.com/hindenburg-zep ... cjEALw_wcB
This way we can run it over the tents for advertising the Club.

Or we could get a school of these... https://www.ebay.com/i/262939392765?chn=ps

Last call! I think I have David, but there may be others. Reply either here or in David's original "amazing ride" thread by June 30. Gene

We can let Rick know by about the 11th: he's kind enough to hold 3-5 spaces for the club. I'll relay numbers to him and make sure an campers have his contact info for at the Rally. Enjoy!

Of course, there will also be plenty of camping absent a club space.

I'm going too. But motel-ing.
Plan to attend Bob's seminar on Friday. And Skene Lights seminar. Hope it see the video I missed last year.

Heard Teach McNeil won't be there. A stoppie didn't turn out very well.

Guidelines from Rick:

The registration desk will direct you to the CCC area.

Each clubs area is designated by your sign. Your camping area will be from the road up. There are plateaus up both sides of CCC. You can camp on the plateaus.

Please be mindful of your space as i have not taped the area off. Your space meets your neighbors space equidistant between the club signs. On the south side the first two plateaus are available. On the north side designated by the canopy tents all plateau areas are available,

Please do not camp outside of our designated area. We are occupying a section of the RV campgrounds which are massive. If you go outside our area you will either have to pay the fairgrounds $23 per night or move within our boundaries

Thank you!
