I attended and found it worthwhile. There were only three of us. One other average Joe on a Road King, and a Balt. Co Moto Cop on a Heritage Softail. I had high expectations for my performance but found it very challenging and will need more follow up practice to master speed, rear brake, clutch and counter balancing, and the all important TURN YOUR HEAD AND LOOK WHERE YOU WANT TO GO (don't look at the F#### cones).
We had ample time to conduct the exercises and breaks in between to let our clutches cool down.
The following are the exercises we practiced, each one building on the previous.
1. Full L/R turn from parking
2. 180 degree turn in a 24 ' box, L/R entry
3. Alternating weave, cones 18' - 15''
4. Lane change
5. 360 degree 24' circle, L/R
6. Right turn in confined lane
7. Narrow right curve
8. Offset weave, progressively getting narrower
9. Iron Cross, 4 sets of 180 degree turns. (This was the most difficult for me)
10. Rear end collision avoidance
11. Emergency Braking (straight line, front brake only, rear breake only, both brakes) (you could hear the ABS chattering)
12. Emergency Braking on a curve (L/R curve)
In addition to the riding exercises, during the breaks the instructor covered various motorcycle safety topics.
