Shannon and I are registered to go. See you there!

BTW, just for fun how about we see who can bring the most interesting brand of beer. With all the micro-brews now, this could be rather interesting. All you have to do is bring one bottle/can to show off around the fire, that way it can easily fit in your bike.

I have the perfect beer to bring. I have been saving it just for the club's Oktoberfest.

Traditionally the October monthly membership mtg has been held concurrent with club Oktoberfest weekend.
Rather than conduct our mtg on Sunday (when most people are focused on departing WestMar) we will hold the mtg Saturday evening around dinnertime. Scott

Dave, a reminder to bring sleeping bag, it may be chilly at Westmar.

Good point there - the NWS forecast at Camp David MD is for a more or less constant 45 degrees day & night.

Note also that we have a first time attendee -- Hurricane Joaquin -- who intends to make Oktoberfest wet, windy, and chilly. Current prediction is for up to 4 inches of rain thru Saturday - this may change, so plan accordingly. Wind speeds of 20 mph. Take the required precautions in your travel to WestMar. When you get to Thurmont area remember you're riding thru a heavily forested mountain chain to reach WestMar. There will be wet leaves on the roads, and if you are riding in a valley or near a stream you may encounter pooled water on the road. With the wind and soggy ground there is an increased possibility of a downed power line.

There are plenty of bunks available in the cabins.

I've already decided I'll be on 4 wheels. Anyone going up this evening, want to meet for dinner.

While I'll miss the company, sitting by the fireplace with a hot toddy and the great food Sat. can't say I'll much miss the ride up this year, or even any form of travelling.
I was even going to bring some of my world famous Mole Skin cookies for all to enjoy, oh well, maybe next year!

Hope there is plenty of wood for the fire and maybe enough to build an arc to float off the mountain Sat. or Sun. morning.

Stay safe, And Warm!

Just watched the weather on tv. Weather man said the weekend "will not be a washout." Also said "clearing on Sunday."

My Aerostitch keep me dry this week commuting to and from work. I should stay dry going up to WestMar, said the optimist.

Should we have a prize for the wettest rider?

See you all tomorrow.
