Square Route Rally 2015 - Volunteers Needed!!!

Postby GSFun » Sun Jan 18, 2015 7:03 pm

Hello from your Membership Chair! We have begun the planning stages for our Square Route Rally and are looking for volunteers to make this an extra special event!

The site (WestMar - Thurmont, MD) has been confirmed for June 5-7 2015 (and Thursday the 4th for set-up), so mark your calendars!!!

If you are not sure what you would like to support, just let us know you are interested and we will add you to our list to contact. If there is a specific area you would like to support, let me know. We will not "lock" you into anything until we speak with you and get you all the information you need.

Volunteering could be anything from staffing a "table" for one or more hours to general help whenever needed. Either way, we will work with you and you will know exactly what to expect before we sign you up ;-)

So, again, mark those calendars and plan on giving 1-2 hours this year to make this a successful event!!

Any questions? Contact our Vice President (and the SRR coordinator) Kurtis Minder, vp@bmwbmw.org.

Areas to Support:
Registration Table
Membership Table
Sales Table
Rides (coordinating, leading, setup for field events)
Grounds Prep/Maintenance
Kitchen
Beer Haus (beer/wine tent)
Photography (photos for BTS etc.)

Thanks again and we look forward to learning from our past Rally coordinators and using their knowledge with some new twists to make this the best Square Route Rally ever!

So. Cindy and Mike Seay said that last year was their last year managing "the Tiki Hut" aka beer tent.

After some thought and discussion, Chaz and I have decided that we're willing to take on the task!

Awesome! After seeing how magnificently you just decorated your place, the Beer Haus ought to be spectacular ;-)

I am planning on attending pending no major disasters. I can take care of photos as well as assist with other stuff like reducing the amount of beer in the tiki hut.

You gotta watch that Potter guy, he's a slippery one ;-)

Seriously though, Mike's awesome and he is gonna help make this event rock!

Those extreme-sports kids today are good, but they have it easy. Try falling off of a motorcycle going 70 or 80 miles per hour on asphalt. Believe me, nothing equals it.

Hello Kwando! Greg is working with Andy (our Webmaster) this year to set up some field events (i.e. field events, slow ride, stall race, sidecar jousting, etc. - still working the details). Anyway, would that be something you're interested in helping with or would you prefer helping with the longer rides (i.e. GS ride, touring ride, history ride, etc.)?

Of course, we would much rather you chose the field events ;-), but glad you are stepping forward either way! It's gonna be a great rally this year!!

Pam, Chaz, Ed - I saw your offers to assist and have tried to send messages through the forums but they don't seem to be sending. We very much appreciate your willingness to help out.
Will you be at the club meeting tomorrow, by any chance? Would love to talk with you!

Otherwise give me a call or txt @ eight-4-seven.9-zero-2.33-two-5
