Horizons Unlimited comes to Virginia!

Postby stevebmw » Fri Oct 17, 2014 5:08 pm

I'd like to invite you all to the first ever Horizons Unlimited Virginia Travellers Meeting, to be held April 9-12, 2015, at Appomattox, Virginia.

These meetings are similar to a rally, but much of the activity is meeting other adventurous riders (of all brands), seeing presentations about trips they're taken or are taking (including at least one 'round the world session), learning skills (we'll have some basic off-road instruction plus a ride-out on dirt and gravel roads), and much more. For all the info, go to: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/events/virginia-2015.

As the meeting organizer, I hope you can make it!

Steve, I'd love to help if I can- let me know!
I'm still shivering from the memories of HU in Canada last September, so it will be nice to have it somewhere warm and close...

I'd love to have your help, Avner. If you go ahead and register, you can indicate the way you want to help out, and maybe even consider giving a presentation :-)

I think it will go well with the real world-travelers at the meeting if I give a presentation on how to purchase an F800GS from Steve, fit it for a trip to Alaska, talk about that illusive "upcoming" Alaska trip every year, but use that wonderful GS (and it IS wonderful) as an urban daily commuter and never really make it to Alaska...
OK, maybe next year!
It is too soon for me to commit, but I will signup for the volunteering spots once I clear my schedule.
Thanks Steve!

UPDATE Change of plans

Oh yes, very excited about this event... I'm leaving Bethesda Thursday mid-morning and taking the back roads down to the rally if anybody else wants to ride along...
Coffee stop in Brunswick at beans in the belfry.

Just an update... We're over 100 registered so far, and more than a dozen presenters signed up! Thanks to all who have chosen to join us. I think this is going to be fun!
