I'm posting a reply to myself after attending the event and only two other club members showed up...
I know there are a lot of GS riders in the club who attend Morton's excellent off-road events and some other GS rides, and might avoid participating in the Green Ridge event thinking they will be in over their heads. Well, I want to tell you that this is a perfect ride for any beginner. You can even do it with Tourance tires, although knobbies are a better choice. Each year we see less and less attendants because they are disappointed that the ride is too easy for the smaller bikes. This is another indication that it will work for any of us big bikers. The only reason I didn't ride my Guzzi was that I didn't have it ready. It would have been a perfect ride for the big Italian hog.
It is a beautiful time of the year out there, and you can go as slow or as fast as you wanat. There re many water (more like mud this year) crossings that are quite easy, and the most challenging parts you'll encounter are some ruts and a few rocky sections. No logs to hop or difficult uphill switchbacks in this ride, and the only spill I saw was of a small bike with a little too much enthusiasm... No big bikes were down in this ride.
I'm going to re-post it for next year, but meanwhile you can enjoy the photos and video (the Green Ridge part starts at the tunnel in the video):
