That's a nice looking restaurant. I'm going to make a note of that one, thanks!

Check their hours carefully! They close right after the lunch hour. We got there a couple of minutes late once, and they wouldn't seat us. What a disappointment! It's good food.

Okay John-Jody. Affirmative on the cabin. Look forward to another terrific get-together in NY. Anyone going out for a wine tasting (or 2)?

OTOH, where are the pix of Jody's new ride? Guess you're ordering Farkle -- we just installed shiny new Pivot Pegz on K's F650 (which, thankfully, she's still very happy with). :D

I guess I've been remiss in not posting a picture of the new bike! I finally got it registered properly yesterday, need to have it inspected, and I'm good to go. This will be what I take to Fingerlakes this year. It was the only bike the Utah BMW dealership had for sale that suited me, and it was still in the crate when we learned it was there. Since the 2009 needed an entire rear wheel (the bearings had "exploded" per the mechanic, there were NONE in the US, and it would take more than two weeks to get one), I decided, after much ado, to go for it and continue on to CA with my son. It's got 5000 miles on it now.

I still don't understand why the 2009 needed both a fuel pump and a rear wheel on this trip--both dealerships indicated they'd not seen those types of problems with the 2009 F650GS bikes.

That is one beautiful GS (sorry, Tina)! I love the yellow and black, and I wish we could have gotten more of them.

Just bad luck. Who knows why these things happen??

Oooh - I know! So you can have a great story to write for Between the Spokes, that's why!!

Thanks for sharing, Jody!

We hope your new ride is much more faithful than the Red Lemon! =D> Bob Higdon was sold a Lemon too when he got his F650GS. His article in OTL convinced Karen to go give it a test ride... :)

We're also glad John Jr was there to assist in your Trials & Tribulations in Utah!

Perhaps we'll see ya'll at Bob's on the 11th...

I'm going on Fri afternoon from Baltimore. Anyone want to join me? I'll be tenting. I highly recommend you sign up for the Saturday Watkins Glen Track ride.

Qijote - we're leaving Friday around 330pm from Pasadena, if that's not too late for you. We can meet up at the DMV or something like that if you like. It's a 6 hr ride I'm told. Never been - first one and really looking forward to it.

Yes, same one as usual -- #3.

Hi John, thanks for dealing with the cabin. Remember, you should already
have me and my friend Helen in there. I'll be arriving early Friday afternoon!

Thanks, but a bit too late. Don't want to be pitching the tent in the dark.

Ok see you all up there - we don't have any choice. This may be better as now we'll go a bit and if we want to we can stop somewhere for the night and pull in first thing in the morning.
