Found this ride report from 2010. Has lots of pictures. Doesn't LOOK too hairy but the narrative sounds like it was pretty hairy in some places.

Damn, I think this ride is beyond my current skill level. I'd probably be a trail hazard to the riders behind me. Too bad, because it looks like fun, except for the hairy parts. :)

That looked like the Enduro route. Can you emagine riding thru the woods and rocks trying to maintain 24 mph?

I am willing to do this at the slowest mans pace and get everybody through on our pigs. We can do it as a group or small groups of bikes.
Look there's all kinds at these if it's anything like the last one we went on - average age had to be 50!! if not higher. It's not a race - it's a playground with Romper Room, cupcakes and lunch and probably a nice long nap for those who finish!

Wow,

I think this is above my skill level, I learned a lot on Monday, but this is pushing it.

I got an email today confirming my registration saying that they already have 152 riders confirmed, and that last year they had a waiting list.

If you are planning on attending, then you should register soon.

Hey guys,
Just got back info on the Michaux Off-road event. They say:

The main course will not be a problem for even inexperienced riders. The YouTube videos are all from the more difficult options. The main course does have some single track, but it is easy. The options are broken down into AA (most difficult), A, B, and C being the easiest.

Thank you,

Now we all can go play! Be advised, as Avner said - the slots are filling up fast.

Thanx Tony.

We'll get our applications in the mail today, and decide what bikes to ride later. I suspect Karen will simply have more fun on the Honda, while I'm looking to test myself a bit with many other hands nearby to help lift if needed (as we were taught in Greer -- The Preferred Lifting Technique is rely on your riding buddies to assist!)... :D

T'was good getting together on Saturday at George's and then for a superb lunch at Tony's New York Style Pizza {http://www.tonysnewyorkpizza.com/} somewhere in the booming burbs of Manassas! Dat's Some Good Eatin!

Ciao!

In light of the different routes, I'd be in, but I have Army that weekend.

Thanks for posting it as an option though.

[OT]I had forgotten about that place. We ate there at someone's recommendation a couple years ago and found it top-notch. It's a little far for pizza (we're spoiled by delivery) but it's well worth a return visit.[/OT]

I got an email asking me to confirm my participation because they have a lot of people on the waiting list.

I'm not giving up my space, but I might not camp there, because the campsite is the actual parking lot.

If anyone else is planing on camping there or nearby, then please let me know - thanks!
