RocketMan wrote:So what track are you going to? back in the 70's a friend that had a Kaw Z1 used to go to the 75-80 dragway in Md and I acted as his pit crew; pretty fun stuff and he was in a way responsible for my buying a Z1A in 74. Back then 12.8-12.4 was considered pretty fast for the 1/4 mile on a stock bike.
Post a schedule when this happens I'd enjoy seeing what they can do today.

Check our website or the Drag Racing thread for info, but the team will be all over the east coast. The closest venues to DC will likely be Budds Creek, Maryland and Dinwiddie, Virginia (between Richmond and Petersburg). Their first race is in a couple of weeks in Valdosta, Georgia.

BTW, BMW claims a 9.8 second 1/4 with the stock bike, which is slightly quicker than the comparable Suzukis.

For all that did not come on Saturday after hours you missed a great presentation by N8. I am very impressed with the options on this bike. This really is one great bike. Thomas is really wanting to race on it maybe next year. Let's let N8 be the first to race it here. You know let him get the bugs out first, not there will be any! If you have any questions Stuart knows everything about it. You also missed out meeting the new dragg racer, he is a really nice guy & would love to have everyone come out & watch him race this year too.

Morton's put on a great party, THANKS & GOOD luck this weekend at Daytona!!

Thanks, Cindy!

We had a great time Saturday evening. There were about 25 people there, a mix of S 1000 RR owners, a couple with bikes on order, Nate, Dominick Anderson (our drag racer), Steve Kennedy, and just folks interested in the bike. I think Nate did a great job explaining all the technical advantages of the S 1000 RR over its competition, especially for the not-quite-expert rider on the street, and it was cool to just get a bunch of excited sport bike people together for the evening. I'll have some photos up on our website tomorrow.

Hey Steve,

Thomas & I had to keep laughing at you, every time Nate got into a silly pose you were ther snapping pictures. Did you get the one with both of his hands next to face like a horse with blinders? Thanks Steve it was great seeing everyone & meeting your new draggster. He is a great & very friendly guy. We look forward to seeing him race also. Let us know when you get his dates!

To the wonderful staff at Morton's.
Thanks for a good time on Saturday. I loved checking out all the gizmos on the S1000RR and wished I can get them on a sports cruiser.

Will do! They'll be on our website. His first race with the S 1000 RR is in Valdosta, Georgia on March 5-7. I'll be there, as I will have been to the Ironbutt Association dinner the night before in Jacksonville.
