ABS and VA Inspection

Postby Seouless » Thu Feb 25, 2016 6:01 pm

I have a "brake failure" light on and have not been to the dealer yet to get a diagnosis. The brakes work fine, I know I don't have ABS working right now.

Question is: My inspection has expired and will it fail inspection with the light on?

I usually inspect at garages that cater to cars and doubt they would notice. A motorcycle shop might.

Good point. No vested interest in repairing at a car shop.

Put a piece of black electrical tape over it :)

When I had my K1200LT inspected at a car inspection place in Winchester last year, the only time the inspector looked at the dashboard was to check the vehicle mileage and of course the key was off at the time. Want to know where? Tire Outfitters on Pleasant Valley Ave. Just make sure everything else he will check if functional. Of course since that time I have diagnosed and reset the ABS alarm, so next month's inspection should be a breeze no matter where it is taken for inspection... What type of bike do you ride. Resetting the ABS alarm can be really simple or complex. Let us know which bike and your symptoms and maybe we can help. -John
