1 battery charger and 2 motorcycles

Postby Yellowjacket » Tue Jan 26, 2016 7:20 pm

I have a Die Hard 7133 battery charger (2-Amp trickle charge, 10-amp fast charge, 50 amp jump start) and 2 motorcycles to charge.
In the winter, should I alternate daily? Weekly? Or some other schedule? Or is there some kind of splitter to charge both of them?

That charger might be a bit harsh for use with motorcycle batteries.
Rather than taking a chance, why not pick up a purpose built motorcycle
battery charger and not take a chance. The old style BMW charger I had
circa 1987 had a max rate of 2amps. More than that risks cooking the
battery. With current chargers, you can get one that will accomodate
two bikes and just let it keep them maintained!

If I didn't already have 2 smart battery maintainers, I'd buy this. But a lot of people call their charger a trickler, when in fact it's a smart maintainer.

Thanks for the input. Looks like a purpose-built motorcycle smart maintainer aka trickler is in my future.
