Hey, John, what's the aluminum sculpture attached to the aft of the cylinder head? Has a name something like "bingo" cast into its side

Ah, those were the days! No 4-valve heads, let alone overhead cams. And you could set the ignition timing using an old taillight bulb with a couple of leads soldered to it. Dwell, schnell--a feeler gauge was all you needed for the points.

Thanks for a trip down memory lane (which, now that I think about it, also featured long winter hours in unheated garages; maybe the Past isn't always what it's cracked up to be!)
