horn replacement

Postby Marius » Sun Apr 13, 2014 7:54 pm

Hello,

Any suggestions for a dual-tone replacement horn on a 1999 R1100R? I would prefer to use the same location (under the pivot off the front fork behind the headlight).

Much appreciated.

We installed a Stebel Nautilus Compact where the OEM horn was on my Rockster. I think its probably the same spot as your bike. Needed to make a bracket to hold it, but it fit in the spot nicely.

And its very VERY loud.

I'm looking to upgrade the horn on my R1200RT wethead. How do you like the stebel nautilus compact? I'm also considering the hella sharp tone or super tone. Any advice?

Stebel nautilus sounds like a car horn. The VA state inspection guy at the gas station jumped and exclaimed when, doing as he had asked, I sounded the horn.
