Mystery snorkel on taillight

Postby bdimon » Mon Aug 26, 2013 7:02 am

I had the taillight off my 2005 R1200RT to check a bulb and noticed a little rubber tube that connected to nothing. What is this for? To keep out water when fording rivers?

I'd bet it has something to do with allowing water vapor to escape, should any enter the housing. I can't remember seeing anything like that on my 2007 RT, so maybe they stopped putting it on at some point?

That's not a hose, it's an antenna for a GPS tracker Mr Heisenberg..
