Hi all,

The address for the shop is 75 Aileron Court, Suite 6, Westminster MD 21157. We are in the Carroll County Airpark. The shops name is Browns Motorcycle Repair. We have 3 lifts and of course a tire machine and balancer plus all the stuff a service/repair shop should have. I'll have a grill going and can burn some dogs and burgers.

We are dealers for Parts Unlimited plus a bunch of other products so if I can be of help on something you need for the tech day let me know.

This past December we moved a couple of doors down and now we have a lot more space and a much nicer facility. Hope you can make it. We will have a good time.

Hey Ed,
Thanks for hosting a Tech Day for the club! Please sign me up for a learning experience. After riding ~8,600 miles in July,
I've got to order a chain and sprockets! Your advanced notice gives me an opportunity to get some F800 parts and get ready
to R&R my drivetrain (with some assistance from the Peanut Gallery in attendance).

See ya there! Here's one of our many stops on our terrific 2013 North American Tour. Wonder where we'll go in 2014?

We've never had a tech day start that late... have we?? :?: Who knows - they may show up at 8 and just start working right there in the parking lot

Thanks Ed for hosting - I can't make it but I hope everyone enjoys the day and lots of work gets done!

Thanks for hosting Ed & Co. Watched Phil take the 800GS down for new rear shock & tire, also new sprockets and chain. Had to leave early to pick up Pat's grand daughter.

Big thanks go out to Ed Phelps, BMWBMW Rides Chair and V-twin Entrepreneur for opening his shop’s doors to a handful of club members. Sorry Angelo, but I got to the big lift just after Ed opened up. I greatly appreciate all the assistance provided in grinding the old chain off (enough to break the old chain after only 15K miles) and with the disassembly advice. Ed’s shop assistant and son-in-law, Dave, was extremely helpful in providing high-powered tools to get the bike torn down and in putting on my new Metzler Karoo-3 tire! And thanks for the Dunkin Doughnuts, coffee, and burgers & dogs! They were greatly appreciated. We had several folks work on their bikes, including Mrs Membership who installed a voltmeter on her Honda (already did the F650) and added wiring for Gerbing’s clothing for cold weather adventures. Others did a lubricants change and GS-911 analysis along with required Kibitzing. =D>

Here's Big Dave Supervising from the Captain's Chair - Good Job, Dave, Serially!

Karen is focused on installing a LED voltmeter (to prevent any future stator issues).
Image

Phil is installing the cover to the rear brake assembly on the swingarm. Note my sexy new Maier mud deflector.
Image

Phil is stunned at all the actual tire changing assistance provided by an actual trained mechanic, Dave.
I got just over 17,000 miles on that rear Heidenau, K60 Scout. 14K on the front tire... Thanks bunches!

Image

Phil is shown attaching side panels with his new, gold-like chain properly installed. Yippee!
Avner: I went down 1 tooth on the front sprocket and up 1 tooth on the back. We'll test it out in western MD & WV...

Thanks again, Ed, for all your time, treats, and technical advice! Greatly appreciated, Man!

Thanks for hosting a great tech day, Ed. Breakfast and lunch were well appreciated. I loved that digital torque wrench with the vibrating handle. Except for finding a crack in my rear brake rotor carrier, it was a perfect day.

It was a pleasure to host the tech day again this year. A lot of maintenance chores got done and Bruce gave a demo with the GS-911 that gave a clean bill of health to Brad's 05 GS.

Maybe we can do it again next year.

Thanks all for comming.
