Yesterday morning, I thought that my 2005 R1200RT did not do the self-check when I started it. This morning, I videoed it to see. This is a cold start after sitting overnight. There is no indication of any self-tests. Does this look expensive? Here is a link to the video on YouTube: http://youtu.be/pq-H1Ew4PEk

It seems that there is no self-check if the engine cut-off switch is in the off position when you turn the key on. Nothing in the owner's manual to imply that the MSF's FINE-C needs to be FEIN-C although it looks more German when I spell it that way.

The problem was in the interface between the helmet and the handlebars. #-o

Not always...sometimes they are simply not-repairable OR replaceable...
