Jim thanks for an excellent afternoon. It was good to meet a lot of the folks and easy to leave knowing more than I did when I got there. I discovered so many new ways to spend money that I have to make a list!
Thanks again,

Thank you Jim - another fantastic BMWBMW Tech Day!

Great fellowship, learned a few tips, and with a BIG THANK YOU to KERMIT replaced the lousy low beam bulb on my KRS with a HID Xenon headlight conversion kit.

Nice tech day. The weather started at 37° and rose to 60°.

We had 22 bikes show up, and lots of work get done!

Here are a few photos:

Thanks Jim for hosting the Tech Day, my first mind you! It's great to finally meet the people on this board who are warm and friendly in person.

Mega thanks to Jim for wiring my new lights.

Image

They are bright but the pattern seems to indicate they require an upright mounting as the lights throws a vertical line in front of my bike.

Image

I looked on Hella's website and they state upright mounting and I mounted them sideways so it must be why I get the vertical pattern. I used the BestRest mounts which only allow a sideways mounting. I might be able to rotate the bulb housing inside the light.
Great thing is, thanks to Jim's wiring, I can simply swap out these lights for whatever lights I want. :D

Many thanks to all who assisted me with my adventurous undertaking. Jim, Rick, Lesly, Paul, and I am sure others are skipping my brain. I rode home and even my wife could hear the difference with my bike.

SNIP :D

Even though I was there for such a short time, I enjoyed looking and learning at the several active projects that had started up - Rick, I am especially interested in how you like these lights, how they respond to vibration (so get on some GS roads), how is the tempered glass when hot after a stream crossing, what is the cost of replacement bulbs AND can you rotate that housing to get a horizontal beam... :!:

Thanks JVB for hosting.

Not to be redundant. Big thanks to Jim for hosting the party and for helping out everyone who asked for technical assistance. Especially me! Thanks to everyone else who showed up! It was great to meet and talk to y'all. Thanks JIm for helping me break that rotten bolt off the valve cover guard! I now have valve cover guards for sale!

I'll add another big thanks to Jim for hosting the Tech Day.

I ended up getting a lot more done than I had planned. Finally installed my Centech, got the Jiffy Quick Disconnects installed, and last put on the new Remus can.

Also want to thank Jim for doing the Throttle Body sync and RickNut for checking motronic codes with his GS-911 =D>

I was going to ask, could you tell a difference? Your cables were off a fair amount.

Thanks to all who came and made it a great day. We finished about 5:30, but got a lot of work done. It was great seeing old friends and making new ones!

It definitely was a little smoother. Seat of pants says the Remus opened things up a little more too, but 495 traffic wasn't really the best place to put it through the paces on the way home lol!
