Location is in Montgomery county...first driveway on left, west of the Brighton Dam, bear left while going down the driveway. It's a mile or so from New Hampshire and a couple miles further still from Georgia. Brighton Dam road is known as Brookeville rd when you're near the town of Brookeville. If heading east toward Columbia on Brighton Dam Rd, and are crossing over the dam...you missed it.

BBQ lunch provided along with the usual assortment of soda, water, dognuts, coffee, and some dessert delight my sister has eluded to. Any heavy work or special tools needed: give me a heads-up and we should be able to accomodate. No tire changing machine, do have wheel balancer, diagnostic tool/laptop, soldering & electric troubleshooting tools and experience, welders, carb sync rig, lift, multiple oil change stuff, brake bleeding stuff, and every hand tool needed. early K bikes and 70's airheads are my specialty.

May need to bleed the front brakes on my K1300GT......but would like some feedback from the group. I had the brakes serviced in the spring just before a track day. In the second session in maybe the second lap I had big time brake fade....was able to get assistance bleeding the brakes to salvage the day.

About 3 weeks ago I was riding in Western NC. I took a recommended fun road off of the BRP that was all downhill and twisty. About 5 or 6 corners in, the front brakes began to feel mushy so I backed off a bit, did more rear braking and engine braking. I hadn't been riding aggressively before taking this route so the brakes should have been fine. I was probably running these 5-6 curves varying my speed between say 50 and 25 mph so I don't think I was using them enough to over heat them at that point. I'm also not really in the habit of riding the brakes either.

I haven't had a chance to do any controlled/safe testing to see if I can recreate the mushy feel since returning home from NC. The bike was transported via pickup between MD and NC.

Is it likely that 4 months and 1500 miles later there could be air in the brake lines? Might there be something else to consider?

first thing to do is new fluid and bleeding. If the problem persists, could be the ABS or leaks. cross that bridge after the bleed.

See ya in the am.

I picked up some brake fluid today to give a try at bleeding the brakes tomorrow with some assistance and guidance from volunteers tomorrow.
