Another "It's been a while" posts

Hey gang! Mark Hogan here. It's been a while, but good to see so many familiar names. Some of you may remember the tech day I hosted at my (old) house in Ashton, MD on that really warm February day years ago. I think over 50 people showed up! Not too long after that, I sold my 1200RT and defected to a Goldwing, which I still have and love. All was fine and dandy until my son just showed me a '78 R100S for sale in Towson...While I always liked them, I don't know a lot about them. I'll be doing some research today, but I thought I'd ask you experts for any tips, hints, is it a good price, etc.

Any help/guidance would be appreciated!

Mark

Hello.
Do you want to rebuild it or leave it as it is now?

So I ended up buying the bike. Drew Alexander called me to let me know he knows the bike well and it's in good shape mechanically. The (now previous) owner, Michael Marion, just had it serviced (carb rebuilds, front caliper was stuck) and had it ready for a long test ride around Loch Raven. What a blast! It's so lightweight and nimble compared to my Goldwing and previous 1200RT. Great fun. So I'm back on the board as another BMW owner!

Henry, I'm planning on keeping it the way it is. Other than a couple of small paint chips, cosmetically it's great. Mechanically, it seems very solid as well.
