Nostalgia

Postby JimVonBaden » Tue May 25, 2021 10:24 am

I remember when:

Thursday would find 30 members doing a RTE to Ellicott City. viewtopic.php?f=38&t=15082

Weekend overnight rides like the Bay Bridge Ride would bring 20-40 people. viewtopic.php?f=18&t=356

Tech Days would bring 30-50 people, once a month. viewtopic.php?f=14&t=20679

The Square Root Rally would command 600 people from around the country. viewforum.php?f=36

Monthly meetings would have 30-5- people, and we were passionate. viewtopic.php?f=15&t=556&hilit=BMWBMW+Meeting

What do you remember?

Maybe FaceBook, but ADVRider is still hopping.

I think its because people spend too much time reminiscing about the past and don't have any time left to attend or plan current or future events!

Yeah, I have no explanation. I spend some time on ADV rider. I like the format of a forum. I am in Facebook detox right now after all the virus and politics. I have a secret account I follow clubs like MOA with.

Anyhow, yes, I recall this group being much more active back when I had less time for bike things.

I miss the "old" crew too. We had a great time, mostly. I'm really looking forward to the SRR and hopefully seeing a few friends that I've not seen in a long while.
