The People You Meet

Postby jcabiles » Sun Sep 17, 2017 10:56 am

Rode my bike to Bob Evans for breakfast this AM. As I sit down at the counter, this elderly gentleman looks at my helmet and asks what I'm riding. I reply a BMW, retired Police Bike. He says, I tested BMWs for the Motor Squad. Yeah Moto Cops like their Harley's.

Turns out the gentleman is a retired (early '90s) Fairfax Moto Policeman. He has three Beemers, a GS and RT and the third I don't recall. We had a nice chat about riding, group rides, covered bridges and the club (he's not a current member). Told him about the Bikes and Breakfast in Clifton.

We broke off our chat when our breakfast's arrived.

Maybe we'll see him at a Breakfast meeting or a rally.

I always enjoy meeting people, especially when we have bikes in common!

Wow, is he still riding in his 90s? It gives me hope for my retired years.

He retired in the '90s ... 1990s. He's not 90. Probably retired when he was 50.
