Go Pro Troubleshooting

Does anyone have a Go Pro Hero 3? I need to troubleshoot why the unit is not charging. Not sure if it is the battery, charging cable or the unit itself. Should only take a few minutes to determine the issue.

I have one and am glad to help, but to be honest I bought a dual charger with two spare batteries shortly after buying the GoPro and that is all I have used to charge the batteries since. The Wasabi and Smartree batteries are highly regarded, I got the Smatree and I can't tell the difference between the aftermarket and the stock. I got something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Smatree-Li-Polym ... 00K197VPM/
Comes with its own USB mini cable, which I again immediately ditched for a spool cable from Monoprice, which makes storing much more orderly:

I actually have a bunch of these in mini and micro USB, even lightning for my iPhones. They all work great.

Lastly, I got an Orico multi-USB charger like this:

Now when I stop for lunch I can charge both iPhones, my UClear helmet bluetooth and my GoPro batteries while I eat.
Make sure to get one with a cord rather than a wall plug mount, makes things MUCH easier.

Total investment, about $30 - well worth it!.
