Going where the sun doesn't shine (8/21/17)

Or at least where it doesn't shine for a few minutes. On Aug 21, 2017, a narrow swath of the USA will enjoy a total solar eclipse. It begins on the west coast in Oregon and rapidly moves east, exiting the USA in South Carolina. I'm cooking up a little trip to the NC/SC mountains for a long weekend. The eclipse is on a Monday.

Just so happens, the path of totality passes right over Deal's Gap.

And upcountry South Carolina, including Greenville.

I'm planning on doing something similar. Should be a pretty cool experience!
