The ballot went out in the BTS yesterday. Just a few lines to introduce myself and why I'm asking for your support for the position of club Secretary.
I have been a member of club since 2009, since buying my first (and so far only) BMW, an R1200GS, that year. A friend told me you simply *must* join BMWBMW (and MOA), and so I did. That was 92,000 miles ago on the bike, two multi-week cross-county trips, and five MOA rallies.
I have participated in club events, including the Square Root Rally and Oktoberfest on and off--and I really appreciate the tech days.
I am passionate about riding, and improving my skills as a rider, teacher, and bike mechanic. I have been an MSF-certified RiderCoach for 15 years, and recently stepped down from teaching, and my part-time position at Northern Virginia Community College, where I helped manage the motorcycle training program. The main reason I'm leaving is to...ride more, and free up weekend time to do things like club meetings and breakfast rides. I ran my own business for a decade, and have the organizational and writing skills to record and publish the minutes and perform other duties as secretary, as well as offer support to the other officers and club members. Since "retiring" from coaching the BRC (MSF) course, things are heading in a different direction motorcycle-wise.
So, a long-winded way of asking for your vote.
Thanks, and good riding,
