I am going to ride to Billings next month. Curious if anyone else is planning on going. If so, would love to sync on the ride.

I will be heading to Las Vegas for another conference following.

Yep. Linking up with a buddy in Pa. and leaving 7/18. Riding back solo, with stopovers in Nebraska and Ohio.

Yes. Headed out the 15th with a buddy from DC. We're going up over the Lakes and staying with friends in MN for a couple days before heading for Billings. Then a leisurely return through Yellowstone & Teton, and a long ride down part of the Mississippi.

Looks like a total Arlington contingent. Anyone else?

But, it looks we all have diverging and pre-planned agendas. Oh well.

It seems BMW riders like doing things together...separately.

I'll be teaching a BRC-2 on Thursday, and will probably do the obligatory Beartooth Pass ride on Friday. Saturday--knock around the rally grounds. Sunday--pull up stakes and head east.

I recommend taking WY 296 through Painter and on to WY120 and back to Billings. Nice sweeping turns uphill to WY120. Painter Outpost had a nice place to stop for lunch that last time I was there. Was caging tho.

Made in to just outside Sundance, Wyo., before suffering catastrophic final drive failure. Bike was towed to Sturgis. Awaiting service department at BMW of Sturgis for the diagnosis, but looks like the forward end U-joint failed. Made an awful rattle just before I pulled over. Attendance at the rally looking very doubtful. Heading back east once it is fixed.

I've worked my way back to Ohio, with an additional 2,500 miles since the repair, so we'll call it good.
