Bumping this thread since we're getting down to the end of the year...

Karla and I attended the local Hoosier Beemers Christmas Party today. There was a gift exchange where you draw numbers and each person can select a wrapped gift or take a previously opened gift. Karla played her selection expertly and scored a nice socket set. I was able to avoid the micro-fiber bike rag set. Not exactly a BMWBMW quality event but they are a nice enough group of folks. I mentioned a tradition of a year-ending ride on December 31st and a year-starting ride on January 1st and they looked at me like I was from Mars...

Anyway, we are enjoying the relaxed pace of southern Indiana but missing our friends both neighbors and riding friends. Looks like I was able to get a couple thousand miles on the rig, the same on the airhead and a little less on the GS. Final numbers after that eccentric New Year's Eve ride...

Miss you guys.

My Dec 20, 2014 purchased 2015 R1200GS had just over 200 miles on it on the first. Sadly it only has 5600 miles on it now.

Jim

:D Hi Bill and Carla, as a Hoosier myself, I am glad you are being treated well in Hoosier land. Stop by New Harmony, IN which is the original settlement of my European ancestors...!

I should have a little over 9000 smiles by the due date, when is the due date anyway :?:

BTW - We are having a great extended riding season out here in the BMWBMW area and I can still use a few more riders this Friday for Dec Fridays Rides http://www.bmwbmw.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=21955
Heading up to Michaux State Forest!

Here again are the starting miles for 2015 with our ending mileage and total 2015 miles noted as well. Karla started the year (2015) with a ride to Sperryville and those of you who joined us for that may recall she needed help getting her riding jacket on and off. She had rotator cuff surgery on February 11th so she wasn't able to ride until mid-summer. Not quite up to our 2014 mileage but these were enjoyable miles nonetheless. I hope we do better this year with health and good maintenance.

84,001 miles on the 2009 R1200GS. (I rode around the block just to collect the "1".) :) Email also sent.

"Franz" has had some problems coping with "middle age," owing to an expensive driveshaft failure and other, more minor annoyances, such as the clutch slave failure. Good news--he's about to get the Wilbers shock upgrade. Ride on. :D

Paul, I am shopping a new suspension for my RS - I'm looking at Tractive, Ohlins & Wilbers. Are you buying the Wilbers from Ted Porter's Beemer Shop, or did you find something closer to home? You can PM me. Sorry for being off-title. Scott
