My new ride!

I bought a 2001 R1150GS today!

I was considering replacing my long-in-the-tooth R1100GS when I found this beauty on craigslist. It was set up exactly the way I wanted it - Ohlins suspension, BMW side cases (instead of giant, toaster oven side cases), and very close to stock. The bike is clean. Super clean. Not a scratch on it. The price was right and I decided to make the move.

I feel conflicted by acquiring such a clean, great looking bike as I don't think I can consider myself a "rat biker" anymore. But I suppose I shouldn't be upset by having found a bike in such great shape. :lol: I'm still a rat biker at heart. I'm sure I'll find a way to make this one look like crap soon.

Below are pics of the new bike, along with one pic of the old and new bike side by side. I'll post more pictures later... stay tuned.

Congrats! Love them yellow GS's. When I saw the ad, I sure wished I had room for one more bike.

Congrats - it looks great!
I felt bad too when I got my 2005 GS in July without a scratch on it, but I took care of that problem fairly quickly...;). A clean GS is a sin!

Congratulations!

Nice touch in the garage pic where the garage floor is all clean under the new bike and isn't under the old bike. ;)

Congrats Tim!!! Even though it's another UGLY GS, I'm still happy for you! I hope you have a lot of great miles on it! I think you should put purple pin stripes on it! :mrgreen:

Sweet! Nice that you stuck with the yellow - everybody knows the yellow GSes are the coolest :)

Ah, I see you got the fast colored GS.

Am a little late to the party on this one. Was with out internet all weekend.
