This Weather Sucks

Postby MrE » Wed Jan 19, 2005 12:39 pm

Yep... Today is a sucky weather day. I am actually a little bit glad that it is snowing. Yes, I know that sounds weird. But I didn't ride today. I listened to the weather forecasters and brought the truck in. Had it NOT snowed, someone would have gotten hurt. Bad. Image

No joke. I played the work from home-card. I have a training class to give Thursday morning... so I hope to keep enough discipline to get it done... here in my boxer shorts and bunny slippers next to the fireplace.

:( I'm with you Mike. I was putting on my Gerbing socks at 5:30 am thinking the snow would wait until evening or not amount too much when the weatherman convinced me otherwise. So now that the snow is falling and starting to accumulate, I don't feel as though the day is wasted and can maybe get some work done.
Wait a minute I need to rush to the store for bread and TP.

Not a day for motorcycling. :(

I got out of work at noon (#&^!!@* Feds! oops, I'm one of 'em) and left yet another 15 minutes early to ensure a seat on the Metro. Driving from Vienna Metro to Reston took about 45 minutes -- usually a 10-minute distance.

Why? Morons on wheels.

I mean, a minivan, flashers flashing, creeping at 10 mph on Lawyers Rd because it's hilly and curvy. Jeez, it's not THAT hilly and curvy! A BMW 740 losing it on the uphill to Hunters Mill! Once free of those clowns the Eurovan Camper and I calmly continued at 40 mph (avoiding the icy-slick tracks where everybody else likes to drive).

But it would have been out of the question on the bike.

Thanks Kres, I am sitting in emergency getting my eyes repaired. The visual was to great for us mere mortals.

Hey now... do actually work, when working from home. :-)

And I'm calling an review in on that call... I dropped that post HOURS before you began visualizing me in my boxer shorts... which really kinda gives me the creeps.
