Arlington Wreath Project

Postby RocketMan » Wed Dec 19, 2007 10:49 am

don't know if any of you have heard of this but I thought it was a wonderful idea. Started 15 years ago by a company in Maine that began donating and places wreaths at Arlington all at his own expense. It has now grown into quite a project. I missed it this year but paln on helping laying wreaths next year. They also have an escort from Maine to DC now and then leave from a location in town, this year from College Park, escort the trucks of wreaths to Arlington and then lay them.

This year they laid 10,000 in Arlington alone, wow!

This might be something the club, (along with as many other local MC groups we could get interested in joining) could get invloved with. They now do this not just Arlington but all over the US and quite a few local cemeteries as well.

here's the link to the site Wreaths Across America

it was hearing about this that inspirered the poem I posted recently.
