My first BMW.

Postby JimVonBaden » Wed Feb 14, 2018 2:34 pm

Seriously, it is my first BMW, Car.

2011 128i Convertible. Fun car, and of course I already started updating it. It was pretty dirty, so I detailed the interior, then added new BMW floor mats, and new GoodYear RSA tires.

What a blast to drive, with a 3 liter inline 6 and DCT auto trans. Not super fast, but very sporty. Pretty loaded on options too.

Now I am not just a Beemer guy, I am a Bimmer guy as well.

Jim: If you haven't been to BMW's Performance Driving School (for a Beemer),
perhaps it's now time to go in your new Bimmer -- even if it ain't super FACT...

Thanks. I drove a few in the past, and my ex GF had one I drove, but this is my first to own. It is a step up from my 05 Mercedes CLK500, though slower.

I sold the sky 2 years ago. I loved it, but it was so impractical. No trunk and no rear seat.

I may consider the class, but I tend not to drive that fa(c)t on the road, and this is not the performance version like the 135i.

Thanks,

Jim,

Nice-looking 128i 'Vert! You sure know how to pick ’em.

Inspired by you Rick. I couldn't afford the Aston, so I looked to your previous car.

unfortunately it is a convertible. those are not track school friendly. most clubs don't allow them. i instruct performance and competition driving with a couple of clubs and i will not take a student if they have a convertible, even if the club allows them. life is too short.

More progress. First I changed the center caps on my wheels. They were pretty rough. I am pretty sure the replacements are fake, even though they say BMW on them.

You can also see the wheels are now MUCH cleaner.

I also cleaned the motor again, there is one more time before it will be good enough. Then washed the whole car for the first time. Yes, it is going to rain, but it needed it.

I have the Novus and a new screen protector and will polish the Nav and get rid of the anti-glare coating because of scratches.
