Wisdom in Riding!

Postby JimVonBaden » Thu May 18, 2017 5:45 pm

From: Brad A. Calbert
"Motorcycling is not, in and of itself, inherently dangerous. It is, however, extremely unforgiving of inattention, ignorance, incompetence, or stupidity."
This is an absolute. We all know someone who rides in a generally unsafe manner, full bore all the time. This leaves dwindling room for error, changing road conditions, errant animals, left turning automobiles, etc.
YOU are responsible for YOUR safety. Things can and do happen, but there's no escaping at least a small amount of responsibility for most accidents.
There's a time and place to ride at 80%. If you're putting yourself or your riding buddies in danger with your ego....YOU are the problem.

Hey Jim, thanks for the post.
I completely agree with the statement, but wonder about the context. What was the reason for the quote?

Perfect for the safety page.

Thanks.

Hi Lorenzo,

The post was on Facebook and without context. I believe it stands alone!
